History The ST modelled was purchased from Hendy Ford Chichester, West Sussex, on 9th September, 2016, by the first owner, a lady who kept it until spring 2024 and covered 39,000 miles. The current and second owner, Essex-based Brett Davidson, bought it from independent dealer Abberton Car Sales, Colchester, Essex, on 13th May, 2024, and loves its combination of performance and practicality. STs are often modified, but he intends to leave it standard as he uses it as his regular transport and has covered nearly 10,000 trouble-free miles in less than a year of ownership. He feels that it drives very well and does not want to upset its balance by adding more power. The Mk3 Focus, known as the C346, was launched in 2010 and revised in 2014, most noticeably around the nose, which featured Ford’s now familiar family grille and slimline headlights. The ST-3 was the most lavish of the three trim levels offered and featured such luxuries as Bi-Xenon headlights that also had adaptive front lighting and a jetwash. The interior cosseted the occupants in Windsor leather heated Recaro sports seats that were eight-way power adjustable and featured the ST logo. The unmarked vehicle modelled was one of several covert armoured Granadas used by the Royal Ulster Constabulary in the early 1980s. It was fleet number 9990 and, like all these cars, was supplied by Ford in a unique trim and mechanical specification designed to facilitate the armouring process and allow the car to function correctly after its weight had been substantially increased. Larger brakes were also fitted to allow repeated heavy braking without overheating.The armouring process involved fitting bullet resistant glass, steel plates in the doors and steel gussets around the door frames to prevent ‘bullet splash’ entering the cabin; a phenomenon that can occur when a bullet hits the vulnerable gap between the car’s door and bodyshell. Ford Cortina Mk2 Twin Cam (Lotus) Anchor Blue The Mk2 Cortina was heavier and wider than the Mk1 but a Lotus version was developed and used successfully in competition. The Mk2, however, was built entirely in house by Ford who fitted engines and other components supplied by Lotus who were at this time moving from Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, to Hethel, Norfolk. It was launched in 1967 as the Ford Cortina-Lotus (rather than Lotus -Cortina) and in 1968 was renamed the Cortina Twin Cam to bring it into line with the Escort Twin Cam, which used the same Lotus engine. The engineers laughed openly at this naïve idea, then went away and did it anyway, grafting an Escort body on to a shortened Sierra Cosworth floorpan. The resultant 1992 Escort Cosworth won ten WRC events and was one of the fastest road cars of its era

First issued in 1965 by Corgi Toys, the 320 Ford Mustang Fast Back Coupe was released in several colours - but never in this new gold and black version. The livery of this new Corgi model replicates colours used on a rare unreleased test version, now finally widely issued for the first time ever. The model includes opening doors, and a recreation Corgi Toys pack that has been amended to feature the colour of the model inside.

The V8 Mustang GT modelled was purchased new in December 2019 by Nottinghamshire-based motoring TV presenter and journalist Paul Cowland, who has always loved American muscle cars. Despite growing up in a family that ran a car dealership and working in the motor trade himself for over thirty years, it’s the only car he has ever bought new as a retail customer. He ordered it from Sandicliffe Ford, on Nottingham’s ‘motor mile’, and it was available at a favourable price because it enabled the dealership to hit their bonus targets for the year. Had Paul waited to register it on a new 2020 number plate, it would have cost considerably more. Paul wanted an orange manual V8 with a rear wing and Recaro seats, so Sandicliffe located this car in the Ford dealership network, then fitted a strut brace, gearbox quick-shift and subframe alignment kit. He also wanted a passive suspension example so he could fit Bilstein B16 coilover units, which he did shortly after taking delivery. He has since added a Milltek performance exhaust and had the engine remapped by V8 tuning wizard Paul Spinks at Wortec, which added around 25bhp but, importantly on a road car, vastly improved the low-end torque making the DOHC unit feel more like a traditional OHV V8. Paul describes this Mustang as his ‘forever car’ as it is very much the fulfilment of a childhood dream.

The Mustang modelled was ordered by Ford's PR department with a factory-fitted rear wing, a £350 option, and the Custom Pack 3, which cost £2,465 and included a 1000W sound system, silver 19-inch forged alloy wheels and climate-controlled seats. It was delivered to Ford of Britain on March 5th, 2019, and loaned to EVO Magazine for a long-term test two weeks later. Although driven by various members of EVO's team, the main custodian was Deputy Editor, Adam Towler, who was very enthusiastic about the car, writing in his first report, 'I think it's fair to say I'm besotted with this big American in a way I can't remember being with a long-termer in years.' During EVO's tenure, Ford's press garage fitted various upgrades from their Ford Performance accessory range for the magazine's experts to evaluate. This included a quick shift gear lever, a carbon-fibre gear knob, a strut brace, a slightly louder and more free-flowing exhaust system, and coil-over suspension which improved the car's stance as well as its high-speed handling. The EVO team hosted numerous track days throughout the year including an event at Goodwood, and all were impressed by the poise the car exhibited on track as well as the glorious rev-hungry nature of its V8. It was returned to Ford on December 2nd, 2019, and used on some corporate Ford events with the product and accessory team before being de-fleeted on 31st July 2020.

Ford’s 2015 sixth-generation Mustang was the first to be officially offered in the UK as a factory-built, right-hand-drive car and in 2021 the iconic Mach 1 was added to the range. Mach 1, the term used to indicate supersonic flight, first graced a production Mustang in 1969 when jet aviation references were very much part of the American lexicon. The original fastback-only Mach 1, which featured a ‘low-gloss’ black finish on a bonnet secured by competition-type pins, was an instant hit, helped by the publicity created when it captured 295 speed and endurance records at the Bonneville Salt Flats. The 2021 Mach 1 echoes that high-performance heritage by featuring a sonorous DOHC 454bhp V8. As well as evocative graphics, the 2021 Mach 1 could be ordered with a 10-speed automatic gearbox or a Tremec 6-speed manual with rev-matching software, just one of a host of features aimed at making it more driver-focused and prepared for track use. They also included separate engine and transmission oil coolers, massive six-piston Brembo brakes and clever MagneRide® adjustable dampers calibrated to work in harmony with stiffer springs and anti-roll bars. The manual example modelled was one of the first UK-specification Mach 1s and joined Ford’s PR fleet in September 2021. It was road tested by various magazines including EVO, CAR, What Car and Auto Express as well as starring in the music video for singer James Arthur’s song, ‘Ride’.

The iconic Mach 1 nameplate appeared for the first time on a UK-market, right-hand drive Mustang in the summer of 2021, and this new more performance-oriented Mustang was instantly recognisable by its redesigned front splitter and graphics. Advertised as 'the most track-capable Mustang ever to grace UK shores', its specification was very impressive and included MagneRide® adjustable dampers, a Tremec six-speed manual transmission with rev-matching technology for seamless down-shifts, a limited-slip differential, and an upgraded oil-cooler to keep the 454bhp 5-litre V8 cool whilst exploiting its prodigious performance. In true Ford tradition, at only £55,185, it was also fantastic value for money as the few cars available offering comparable performance were considerably more expensive. The example modelled was added to Ford's Press Fleet on September 2nd, 2021, and retained until February 17th, 2023. During that time, it was used for Ford's corporate events or track driving days, and it appeared on TV twice, in the Wheeler Dealers' Yellow Car Special and BBC Top Gear's Christmas Special. It was also loaned to various magazines and newspapers for road-testing, including The Sunday Times, The Sun, The Mirror, Top Gear Magazine, Goodwood Media, What Car and Autocar. For the final ten months of its PR duties, it was on long-term test with CAR magazine, mainly in the care of the magazine's then deputy features editor, James Taylor, who was a big fan of the Mach 1's handling and character.

This particular Mustang55 was first registered in February 2020 and found its way to Norfolk-based enthusiast Roy Page in August 2021. The car's previous owner, apparently a collector of bright green vehicles, had covered just 4,000 miles. Roy quickly discovered that the Grabber Lime colour scheme combined with the mellifluous V8 soundtrack made quite an impression, using the car to transport friends and family to weddings and prom nights in memorable style. The Mustang55 even enjoyed its moment in the spotlight when it appeared in the promotional video for American-Ghanaian artist Amaarae's track 'Co-Star', filmed at the studio space Magazine London alongside other exotic machinery.

The Police Raptor demonstration vehicle modelled was converted by Ford’s Special Vehicle Preparation Team in Essex during 2019, shortly after the Raptor was launched. The base vehicle cab was stripped down to gain access to the roof and dash areas so it could be fitted with an all-LED blue light and search light facility, plus a sophisticated communications system and ANPR capability. It was then finished with the high performance Battenburg livery now used by all UK police vehicles. The Raptor’s 2-litre Bi-Turbo Ford EcoBlue diesel engine, which develops 500 Nm of torque, was left standard as was the four-wheel drive system which distributes all that torque to BF Goodrich K02 33-inch all-terrain tyres. This high-profile vehicle has been loaned to a number of police forces for evaluation prior to possible purchasing and has been used by many Police Rural Crime teams. It has featured in many TV programmes including the BBC’s Top Gear, Dream Jobs with Chris Hoy on Motor Trend and Amazon’s The Grand Tour, where it was used as a support vehicle. It was also road tested by numerous magazines including CAR, Parkers, Auto Express, What Car and Company Van Today. Additionally, it has been widely used by the Ford Press team for various events including The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders test drive days which are attended by both journalists and industry figures. It was a key vehicle in Ford of Britain’s Press Launch for the New Ranger in 2019.
