History

This model represents a remarkable survivor story from British motoring history. Built as one of the final '3-synchromesh' Mk1 MGBs in July 1967, the original car featured five desirable optional extras: wire wheels, heater, colour-matched blue tonneau cover, black foldaway hood, and front anti-roll bar. Its first owner, RAF Squadron Leader John Duncan Griffiths, took delivery in August 1967 while serving at RAF St Mawgan, Cornwall, keeping the car for five years.

The current owner, Graham Dix from Abingdon - MG's historic hometown - purchased the MGB during a snowstorm in December 1979, captivated by its elegant shape and distinctive engine note. After serving as his daily driver for several years, the car later entered storage. Graham's meticulous attention to detail during its subsequent transformation resulted in a stunning example of the marque, earning the car features on the covers of both 'Classic and Sports Car' and 'Practical Classics' magazines.
